Songs about the Many Faces of Love
Anyone who’s been in love will tell you a different story of their experience, anything from joy to heartbreak. Hildy and Eyran selected songs for their new CD that capture the many faces of love. Love can be filled with sweetness (Embraceable You, La Vie en Rose), loyalty (He’s Funny That Way), celebration (It Had To Be You), revenge (Some of These Days), anticipation (The Man I Love, Lulu’s Back in Town), excitement (Firefly), longing (My Old Flame, What’ll I do?), bitterness (Angel Eyes), rivalry (Jailhouse Blues), yearning (Lover Man, Oh Where Can You Be?) regret (Bill Bailey, Won’t You Please Come Home). Hildy and Eyran’s original title song (Wait for Me, Baby) is in the tradition of the blues, and tells of triumph over "love gone wrong."
Hildy Grossman is a founding member of the celebrated jazz/cabaret group, the Follen Angels. Hailed as a “natural” jazz singer, Hildy’s voice was described by Ron Della Chiesa on WGBH’s “The American Songbook” as having “that fast vibrato of all the greats”. Hildy is on the Board of the Boston Association of Cabaret Artists. She teams up with Eyran Katsenelenbogen, internationally acclaimed jazz pianist, who has been thrilling audiences throughout the United States, Europe and the Middle East. He received the ASCAP Plus Award for 2002 through 2006. This duo will certainly create an unforgettable evening.
